  • What is Acupuncture?

  1. 1

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning.  It is a complementary medical practice that involves the insertion of extremely thin needles at very precise acupuncture points on your body.  A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain and discomfort associated with a variety of diseases and conditions such as:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches, including tension and migraine headaches
  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Injured muscles
  • Nausea

It is a precise peripheral nerve stimulation technique in which the acupuncture needles are inserted into specific neurofunctional sites and stimulated manually or with electricity for the therapeutic purpose of correcting abnormal activity of the nervous system and/or the endocrine and immune systems.

After a treatment, patients feel relaxed and rejuvenated with partial or total relief of symptoms.

  • Acupuncture has been helping people relieve symptoms of stress for thousands of years.
